ABSTRACT

A smart home is a component of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology implementations that help people with their daily activities. To link devices to the Internet of Things, a variety of communication methods can be used. Impairments restrict the activities that disabled people can participate in. This paper proposes an automation system that enables disabled people to control televisions (TVs), lights, and fans, any other electrical devices at home, using just voice commands without moving. The Google Assistant feature for mobile phones is used to achieve voice recognition on electronic components. This system also contains the concept of human temperature measurement where the temperature sensor, fixed to the door, checks the temperature of the person and opens when it is normal. This prevents the user from getting infected by the illness, keeping in mind the present situation of covid19. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Coronaviruses are a group of viruses from the subfamily Orthocronavirinae in the Coronaviridae family and the order Nidovirales. In general, the transmission of this virus occurs through droplets or body fluids splashed on someone or objects around them within 1-2 meters' distance away through coughing and sneezing. Office buildings, cafes, and shopping areas are one of the clusters for spreading the coronavirus because the following places lack awareness of health protocols. This research will create a healthy and Smart Building system where this system consists of two devices from the following problems. The first device is a health procedures checker system where using an ultrasonic sensor as an automatic switch can provide a hand sanitizer as the first step to kill viruses. The GY609 sensor is used, which can measure the temperature of visitors without touching it. The second system is the Smart Switch;the doors and lights can control using voice using google assistant to minimize the doorknob's touch or the light switch. The healthy and Smart building test results are for the intelligent, healthy procedures system, 3-7 cm is the optimal distance from the hand to the sensor, 5cm is the distance from the hand to the temperature sensor, and the motor working time is 1 second. For the Smart switches, the recommended network system is 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi to avoid excessive delays. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, all countries around the globe are trying their best to prevent the spread of Covid-19 from reaching their people. However, the virus spread is through the transmission of close contact with the infected person and touching a surface that already contains the virus. This project presents Voice User Interface (VUI) Smart Office Door System that interact with the Internet of Things (IoT) to execute the command given by the user. This project use Raspberry Pi as microcontroller which Thonny Python software used for running the coding script of the system. The electrical components such as dc motors and LEDs are connected to General-Purpose Input Output (GPIO) pin of Raspberry Pi and motor driver. One of the dc motors used for controlling the lock and another one used for controlling the door. Blue LED used as locked door notification while green LED used as unlocked notification. Microphone and speaker connect to the Raspberry Pi through usb port and Bluetooth. This system used Google Assistant as its VUI to control the smart door contactless. The user can give the command to the system through microphone to control the output of the system. The purpose of this project is to invent the smart door with IoT technology that help prevent the spread of Covid-19 at the workplaces. © The 2022 International Conference on Artificial Life and Robotics (ICAROB2022).

ABSTRACT

This project presents the Smart Voice User Interface (VUI) Office Monitoring System that interacts with the Internet of Things (IoT) to complete task based on user's commands. In order to reduce the spread of Covid-19, touchless switches are vital to be used in practice. The Raspberry Pi is used as a microcontroller in this VUI system with Phyton programming language. The electrical components used, such as LED lights and air conditioners, are connected through the General-Purpose Input Output (GPIO) of Raspberry Pi and relay module. The air conditioner is represented with a fan using a motor while lights using LED lights. The outputs can be controlled by giving commands to the Google Assistant or using the Blynk application that relates to the virtual assistant. The interface of the Blynk application shows buttons as an indicator for turning the lights and air conditioner ON or OFF. An application called If This Then That (IFTTT) is used to trigger the GPIO pins based on the instruction commands made in the Blynk application and Google Assistant. A pair of microphones and speakers are also connected with the Raspberry Pi as input and output voice commands. The outcome of the propose technique is a system which controls the devices using voice recognition and artificial intelligence that result in reducing the spread of covid-19 in an office environment. This will be beneficial for office staff for daily scheduled use and personal usage. As a conclusion, this system is efficient and suitable to be used during this pandemic because it eliminates the need to touch various surfaces in office environment. © 2021 IEEE
